Productive Winter Smiles

So the last month or so has turned out rather different from I had thought. The quite period that normally falls around christmas and new year time has yet to turn up and as a result I have been super busy, far more than I had expected as I had planned to go on holiday, but that’s going to have to wait for a bit. Still this is a good thing, a great thing! I would rather swap being busy with going on holiday any day while my company is still in its infancy. Below are a few of the things I have been up to, some of which are still taking up a lot of my time and making it hard to see one of my New Year resolutions through, which was to blog more…..

Furniture. Not just any furniture though, Schoolhouse has become the photographers for bespoke joinery company Bill Cleyndert & Company who make some really rather exquisite one-off pieces, however the photographs we have taken are yet to be added to the site as a new one is on its way. The photography itself is rather challenging as it all has to be done on the factor floor, where space, dust and time are all demanding issues. Still I welcome a challenge!

We have been continuing our work with Big Green Egg Uk and in particular this time with Jack O’Shea, one of Britain’s top butchers who has been working with us on some more promotional films. There will be more to show soon as well as there being plenty more shoots planned for later this year.

I have started pre-production on a new short film I intend to make. With this film I want to try something a little more serious, with surroundings and atmosphere playing an important role visually as well as narrative. I may also point out that anyone reading this who is interested in getting involved in the production, please drop me a line at peter@schoolhousedigital.com

A new client of ours is Josephine Home, specialising in luxury bed linen and accessories for the home and

luxury hotel. We were asked to make a series of short films which would show the traditional craftsmanship that goes in to make their products. From the cashmere and woollen
throws that are made in Ayrshire, Scotland. To the pure white bed linen we filmed in the north of Italy. The films will be going live very soon, so I will be sure to post them as soon as I can. We have also been busy producing images of the products, ready to go on the Peter Jones and John Lewis stores websites, as well as product packaging for the company.

And finally, the new year is here and so another year of portraits begins. I have created a new handout so keep your eyes peeled for it around North Norfolk.
