Lifestyles Festival 2010

Every year, Hunstanton gets visited by hundreds of visitors, none more so than on the weekend in July when the lifestyle festival comes to town. It’s a great weekend when extreme sports, loud music can be found all along the promenade.
With a focus on the BKSA Freestyle Kitesurfing Championships that take place down on the beach, you can also see BMX, skateboarding and inline as well as street dancing and the relatively new sport of parkor.
For a while now I have thought to myself that it would be great to cover this even in some way, and this year I got to. I spent most of this years festival walking about getting GV footage of the events and some more focused coverage of the kitesurfing.
I was using the JVC-HM700 and shooting completely over-cranked all weekend while filming the sports to really exaggerate the tricks and water, this also gave me more to play with in the edit, as I could then speed up 200 and play the footage at the actual speed of keep it slow and work it in with the track. I’ve only cut a version showing the kitesurfing so far as this was my main interest, but I also got lots of other footage including the BMX comps that were really going off, some street dance and parkor demos. So stay tuned and you will see another version soon.
